His senile grandmother thinks she’s being haunted by Sydney’s legendary “tar pond cat”, and his Sunday School teacher, Beth, has convinced herself that she’s the living dead. His cousin Debbie holds a secret that prompts her to steal, then discard, Teddy’s little cousin Junior.
And about that bump on Teddy’s belly. Could he be…pregnant?
Welcome to the Butterscotch Palace is a linked set of short stories that explores the disorienting, dysfunctional and sometimes dangerous lives of small town children.
